The opening concert of the 2018 Festival is as unusual and interesting an event as has been staged at the Festival in its 22 year history. We are joined by a host of local Brass players, led by local tutor Mark Reynolds, Danielle Price and 2018 Festival Young Artist Anthony Hook, for a performance of works for one to three tubas, plus a brand new work composed by Scottish composer Bill Wells, who has worked with Aidan Moffat among others.

The concert will be staged underneath the mighty Glenfinnan Viaduct, a towering masterpiece of architecture with a unique acoustic. It promises to be anything but the standard brass fanfare that usually heralds the beginning of an important event!

Concert goers are asked to meet at the Glenfinnan Viaduct car park at 6pm, where they will be led to the performance location.
